2012 Mother's Day Flower Sale fund raiser

Our Delegation needs to raise funds in order to support our year-round sports training and athletic competition for athletes living in the Chittenden County region of Vermont.

We wholeheartedly encourage our athletes to take an active role in fundraising and encourage families and caregivers to support their athlete's efforts as well.

Please remember that our flower sale last year was so very successful because we were the first non-profit organization out in the community offering these beautiful plants to our family, friends and neighbors. So Don't Delay!

2012 Summer Sports Practice

Our summer sports practices are starting soon!  Eight weeks of practice leading up to the 2012 Summer Games at UVM the weekend of June 1st - 3rd.  

Softball 
Practice begins Saturday April 7th, 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Schifilliti field located at the end of Gosse Court in Burlington.

5/5 - practice 9:00 - 10:30

DD coffee, baked goods, and lots of friends and fellowship

Raffle drawings: Homemade Pies and “Cookies in a Jar”

2012 Jeff Kutt Award Nomination Information

The Jeff Kutt Award was founded in 2003 to honor athletes who epitomize the spirit of the Special Olympics.  The recipient of this award has exemplified his or her commitment to the team, strived for excellence, demonstrated teamwork on and off the field, and has shown courage in their attempt to succeed.

Those worthy of this award will exhibit the following behaviors/qualities:

- Helpful to teammates

- Encouraging to teammates, especially when others are feeling down.

- Exhibits great sportsmanship, win or lose.

- Shows enthusiasm, win or lose.

- Is attentive / focused both during practice and events.

Nomination Process

1.     Identify the athlete you would like to nominate with their full name and sport(s) they participate in.

2.    Provide a brief description of the athlete, including how they relate to the qualities listed above.

3.    Send your nominations in email form to Sasha Vaut at acvaut@yahoo.com by Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Once nominations have been received, we will compile them into a master document and send it to the award committee, comprised of coaches and the Kutt fa3/29/12mily. The recipient of the award will be announced at the spring Annual Pot Luck Supper & Awards Night on Thursday, March 29th.

Canceled - Basketball practice Monday, March 5th - Optional make up Thursday March 8th 7:30PM

We announced at Wednesday's practice that there will be NO practice Monday March 5, a regularly scheduled practice on Wednesday March 7th and an optional practice on Thursday March 8th from 7:30-9pm.  

Also, we will have schedule changes in April.  I was able to get the Williston Central School for one night--April 4th.  As of now, we have no practice site for April 2, 9, and 11.
