Yes, coach Tammy and Karen will be at practice tonight... from Tammy: "I'll be there unless things look drastic tomorrow afternoon (like we get 2 feet instead of 8 inches).  As always, I would never tell the athletes they "must show up"!  Care providers and athletes should not drive if the weather makes them uncomfortable or if the footing is too hazardous for them." 

2014 Jeff Kutt Award Nomination Information

The Jeff Kutt Award was founded in 2002 to honor athletes who epitomize the spirit of the Special Olympics.  The recipient of this award has exemplified his or her commitment to the team, strives for excellence, demonstrates teamwork on and off the field, and has shown courage in their attempt to succeed.

Those worthy of this award will exhibit the following behaviors/qualities:

- Helpful to teammates

- Encouraging to teammates, especially when others are feeling down.

- Exhibits great sportsmanship, win or lose.

- Shows enthusiasm, win or lose.

- Is attentive / focused both during practice and events.

Nomination Process

1.     Identify the athlete you would like to nominate with their full name and sport(s) they participate in.

2.    Provide a brief description of the athlete, including how they relate to the qualities listed above.

3.    Send your nominations in email form to David Bogdan at dbogdan@ieee.org by Monday, March 3, 2013.

Once nominations have been received, we will compile them into a master document and send it to the award committee, comprised of coaches and the Kutt family. The recipient of the award will be announced at the spring Annual Pot Luck Supper & Awards Night on Thursday, March 27th.

Chittenden Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe practice will be at the University Mall, 01/17/2014

It is white out there but not enough snow for Catamount to open the trails :-(  We will be walking the mall. Dave

2014 Chittenden Basketball Practice

Basketball season is coming up.  Practice will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:30, beginning Monday February 3rd through Wednesday April 10th. We will all meet together the first week and split into two groups, half Monday and half Wednesday for the remaining practices.

The Norwich Invitational Basketball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th, at Norwich University, Northfield, VT.  The Spring Sports Competition is scheduled for the weekend of April 12th and 13th at UVM.

We will be walking the University Mall again. The trails at Catamount Outdoor Family Center are closed (http://catamountoutdoorfamilycenter.com/winter-season/winter-trail-conditions/) and rain is in the forecast. See you a the Mall at 9:00 AM sharp!
