The 2025 Special Olympics Winter Games will be held on March 2nd and 3rd. Below is information about the event from Special Olympics Vermont. The event is split with Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe traveling on March 1st, competing on March 2nd and Alpine Ski and Snowboard traveling on March 2nd, start competition in the afternoon and finish on March 3rd. We will all be together for the opening ceremonies, dinner and dance Sunday evening. We are asking Alpine Ski and Snowshoe to pack a lunch for Sunday March 2nd.
Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe will meet at Special Olympics Vermont office on Saturday March 1st at 2:15 PM to carpool to Potash Hill.
Alpine Ski and Snowboard will meet at the Special Olympics Vermont office on Sunday March 2nd at 8:15 AM to carpool to the Hermitage Club.

9:30pm: Coach Meeting (On-Course at Marlboro Ski Club Venue)
10:00am – 2:00pm: Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Competition (Marlboro Ski Club Venue)
11:30am – 12:30pm: Grab & Go Lunch (Coffee Shop Building at Potash Hill)
*Can eat at the venue or back at dorms*
12:00pm – 1:00pm: Arrival & Delegation Check-In (Downstairs by the Hermitage Club locker rooms)
*It is recommended to leave your overnight luggage in your cars until delegations begin to check-in at Mount Snow*
1:00pm: Coach Meeting (In the Hermitage Lodge by the fireplace)
1:15pm – 2:00pm: Slalom – Course Inspection for Athletes & Coaches (Blue Sky, Haymaker, Rocker)
2:00pm: Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Competitions end. Delegations have this time to shower and change.

3:30pm: Travel to Mount Snow to check-in and drop off luggage (if applicable), head to Hermitage Club for Opening Ceremonies
2:00pm – 4:00pm: Slalom Races (Blue Sky, Haymaker, Rocker)
4:30pm: Arrive at the Hermitage Club
4:30pm – 4:45pm: Opening Ceremonies Organization and Athlete Line-Up (Outside of Hermitage Club Lodge)
4:45pm – 5:15pm/5:30pm: Opening Ceremonies (Outside of Hermitage Club Lodge)
5:30pm – 6:15pm/6:30pm: Awards Ceremony for Cross Country Skiers & Snowshoers (Hermitage Club Lodge)
6:15pm/6:30pm – 7:30pm: Dinner will begin right after Cross Country Ski/Snowshoe Awards End (Hermitage Club Lodge)
*Cross country ski and snowshoe delegates will begin eating right after awards end for them. We expect Alpine Skiers and Snowboarders to be arriving after cross country skiers and snowshoers get their meals.*

8:45am – 9:30am: Giant Slalom - Course Inspection for Athletes & Coaches (Blue Sky, Haymaker, Rocker)
9:30am – 11:00am: Giant Slalom Races (Blue Sky, Haymaker, Rocker)
10:00am: Check-out by 10:00am at Potash Hill for those that are staying over on Sunday Night
11:00am: Check-out by 11:00am at the Mount Snow Grand Summit Hotel
11:00am – 1:00pm: Rolling Lunch (Hermitage Clubhouse)
12:45pm – 1:30pm: Super G – Course Inspection for Athletes & Coaches (Blue Sky, Haymaker, Rocker)
1:30pm – 2:30pm: Super G Races (Blue Sky, Haymaker, Rocker)
3:00pm – 5:00pm: Awards Ceremony (Hermitage Club Lodge)

Cross Country Ski and Snowshoeing Notes:
- Cross country ski and snowshoe awards will take place
at the Hermitage Club
- Cross country ski and snowshoe athletes will be able to attend Monday’s Breakfast and Lunch at the Hermitage Club
Ski and Snowboarding Notes:
- Ski and Snowboard athletes will be dismissed
immediately following the conclusion of opening ceremonies so that
delegations can check-in at Mount Snow. Snowshoe and cross-country ski
awards will occur during this time (5:30pm - 6:30pm)
- For
divisioning, games management will be using athlete’s times from Slalom
Races (On Sunday) to determine their division for awards
- Coaches are allowed to ski/snowboard alongside their athlete if they are outside of the course area
- Athletes will have one practice run and one timed run on Super G
- Athletes will have two timed runs on Slalom and Giant Slalom
- Athletes and coaches will have the
chance to have a “course inspection run” where they can scope out the
course that they will be competing on. Times for these course
inspections are
listed in the schedule
- Adaptive Equipment Skiers will all be skiing on Haymaker (refer to Hermitage Club Map pdf)
Spectators:
- Spectator zones are available to parents and
families. The lifts will not be open to take spectators up to Rocker
(Advanced Trail), however walking trails that lead up to Rocker will
be marked with signage. Haymaker (Intermediate T) has a parking lot
that is by the gatehouse entrance to the Hermitage Club (Refer to the
attached Hermitage Club Map). Additionally, spectators can walk over to
Haymaker from the Hermitage Club Lodge. Blue Sky
(Novice Course) is located right next to the lodge.
Housing Notes:
- Mount Snow Grand Summit Hotel will be handing out keycards to heads of delegation to distribute amongst their delegates
- Linens are included at both Potash Hill and Mt. Snow Hotel
