2019 Special Olympics Vermont Summer Games, June 8 and 9

Summer Games will be the weekend of June 8th and June 9th at The University of Vermont and Saint Michael's College. Meals are provided for credentialed individuals Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. 

This year and next, Summer Games will be held at two locations. Unified Basketball, Opening Ceremonies, the dinner, dance and dorms will be at UVM. Skills Basketball, Bocce and Healthy Athletes will be at St. Mikes. Lunch will be served at both locations. Skills athletes and bocce athletes not staying overnight may go directly to St. Mikes. Coaches and athletes staying overnight should go to UVM. 

Saturday Arrival times:
  • All athletes and coaches staying overnight arrive at the UVM Wing/Davis/Wilks Halls at 8:00 a.m.
  • Unified basketball not staying overnight arrive at the UVM Indoor track at 9:00 a.m.
  • Skills basketball arrive at St. Mikes Tarrant Center at 9:30 a.m.
  • Bocce not staying overnight arrive at the bocce courts just behind St. Mikes Tarrant Center at 9:30 a.m.

The theme of the Saturday evening dance is "Welcome to the Jungle"!

For those staying overnight at the UVM dorms, you must bring toiletries. Our delegation will be charged for any damage or missing items and also for keys that are not returned. Please be considerate of our host facility and also remember to turn in your keys.

Special Olympics Vermont has gone "Green" so during competition water will be provided in bulk dispensers, please bring your own reusable water bottle to fill. Please make sure your name is on the water bottle!

Outdoor competition events will continue in bad weather unless there is thunder or lightning. Please watch the weather forecast and plan accordingly!
   

 Please take note of the following details:

  • All Bocce teams, Basketball teams and skills athletes have competitions both Saturday and Sunday. Athletes, partners and coaches must attend both days!!!!!!!
  • Sleeveless Basketball jerseys will be handed out Saturday morning and collected Sunday afternoon after awards.
  • Bocce athletes should wear their Hawaiian shirts. New bocce athletes will receive a Hawaiian shirt.
  • Summer Games begins on Saturday, there is nothing Friday night.
  • For those staying in the dorms Saturday night, linens and towels will be provided.
Please note that our Chittenden delegation is only allowing dorm check in Saturday morning and will require check out Sunday morning. We will load everyone's "stuff" into pickup trucks as we have done in prior years.
