The Special Olympics Vermont Chittenden Program trains more than 150 athletes and partners for competitions in 12 different sports throughout the year. As you know, the program is run by volunteers and supported entirely by fundraising and donations.
Athletes are not charged to participate, however the programs are not free to operate. The Chittenden program has significant expenses such as Games registration, bowling, gym, pool, court and fields for practices, uniforms, meals, and equipment. Renting lanes for Team Bowling in the fall will cost close to $5000; total expenses for the Chittenden program are around $30,000 each year.
Right now we need your support! Without additional volunteers and funding the Chittenden program will be unable to continue offering all the programs we want to.
